How do I set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
Answer
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is in use at Red Deer Polytechnic.
MFA uses two or more methods to confirm your identity when logging in to a system, making it more secure than logging in with a password only.
At Red Deer Polytechnic, log in using your email address and password, and then authenticate your identity using one of these methods:
- Microsoft Authenticator app on your cell phone
- A fob from IT Services
If you get a new cell phone or a new phone number, MFA will no longer work (even if you re-download the app). In this case, complete the MyRDP Password and Access Issues form. You will receive a response within 2 business days.
Visit the IT Services' portal and search for 'MFA' to learn how to setup Multi-Factor Authentication or to request a fob. If you don't find the information you need, log in with your RDP email address and password to submit a support ticket. If you are unable to log in to submit a support ticket, contact the Library.
