How do I connect to the Red Deer Polytechnic wifi?

Answer

Red Deer Polytechnic has two wifi networks:

  • RDC-Open for students, faculty, and staff
  • RDC-Guest for guests to the Red Deer Polytechnic campus

Connecting to RDC-Open

  1. Follow the directions specific to your device for joining a wireless network.
  2. Select RDC-Open.
  3. Once connected, you'll be prompted to log in using your Red Deer Polytechnic email address and Loop password.

After that, each time you come to campus, your device will reconnect automatically. This automatic connection expires a year after you first signed in, after which time you'll need to complete the above steps again to reconnect for another year.

You can connect up to five personal devices to RDC-Open; you'll need to log in the first time you connect each device.

Connecting to RDC-Guest

  1. Follow the directions specific to your device for joining a wireless network.
  2. Select RDC-Guest.
  3. You'll be prompted to Accept or Decline the Acceptable Use Policy. Once you accept, you'll be connected to RDC-Guest for 24 hours. After 24 hours, you'll need to reconnect by accepting the Acceptable Use Policy again.

If you have further questions about the wifi, visit IT Services' portal and search for 'wifi.' If you don't find the information you need, log in with your RDP username and password to submit a support ticket.
