I have permalinks to library resources in my Blackboard course. What do I need to do before the move to a new library platform?

Answer

Red Deer Polytechnic Library is moving to a new platform on May 1, 2025.

This may affect permalinks to library resources used in Blackboard courses.

Depending on how they were generated, permalinks (persistent links) to library resources (e-books, online articles, streaming videos) may break with the transition to the new library platform on May 1, 2025.

All permalinks generated from OneSearch, the library catalogue, will break at that time.

More information will be provided closer to May 2025.

See the Faculty Guide for best practices on generating permalinks and using them in your Blackboard course, or contact your Subject Librarian for more information.
