How do I book a study room in the Library?

Answer

Study rooms and cubicles may be booked by Red Deer Polytechnic students. Rooms on Floor 1 are bookable up to 3 hours per day, while rooms on Floor 2 are bookable up to 2 hours per day.

How to Book a Study Room

  1. Go to the Library's Room Booking page.
Study room booking "search spaces" page
  2. By default, the Room Booking page will display the next possible booking time. Bookings begin on the hour (:00) and half hour (:30).
You can adjust any of the options (capacity, category, zone, date, "from" and "until" times), and/or tick a checkbox to select a room with specific attributes (e.g. with power, with a whiteboard, with a TV screen, etc.).

  3. Click Search.

  4. Available rooms that meet your criteria will be displayed first.
    • Click the room number to view information about that room.
    • View our map to see where the room is located.
    • Rooms that are unavailable for your desired time, but available at other times, will be displayed at the bottom. You will be able to see when the previous booking ends, in case you wish to adjust your time or date in order to book a specific room.

  5. Click Book Now.

  6. Finish your booking by completing the form.
    • Enter your first and last name.
    • Enter your RDP email address (@rdpolytech.ca and @rdpolyedu.ca addresses only).
    • Indicate your name or a group name, which will display on the public schedule (optional).
    • Indicate whether you will be writing an exam.
    • Agree to the Terms and Conditions.

  7. Click Submit my Booking.

  8. Congratulations! You have now booked a study room in the Library!
    • Check your RDP email for your confirmed booking.
    • The email will come from “LibCal” with a subject line of “Your Red Deer Polytechnic Library booking has been confirmed!”

Library Study Rooms and Cubicles in the Summer

In July and August, bookings by RDP students will be prioritized over other bookings. If the space is vacant, it may be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Study rooms are for use by Red Deer Polytechnic students only, from September through June.
