How do I drop or withdraw from a class?

Answer

Drop a Class

You may drop classes from your student schedule on or before the last day to add/drop classes; refer to the Academic Schedule for the add/drop date for each term. There are some courses that have non-standard drop dates; check your course outline or contact your program Chairperson or Associate Dean for more information.

To drop a class, select Course Registration under the Academic Quick Links card in your MyRDP account.

Withdraw from a Class

Classes that are dropped after the last day to add/drop are considered withdrawals; refer to the Academic Schedule for the add/drop date for each term.

In order to withdraw from a class, you must fill out a Course Withdrawal Form.

  1. Log in to your MyRDP account and click on the Main Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
  2. Select Resources > RDP Forms Index
  3. Select the Course Withdrawal form. If you wish to withdraw from all courses, select the Cancellation / Complete Withdrawal form instead.
  4. Submit the completed form to the Office of the Registrar.

You will be charged for the class, and it will appear on your transcript with a grade of 'WD.' Find more information under the Course Registration Guide card in your MyRDP account.

If this card does not appear on your MyRDP homepage, click on the Discover More button at the bottom of the page and type "registration" into the search tool.
