I'm an International student. Do I need a co-op work permit?

Your Letter of Acceptance includes information on the work component or practicum requirement for your program. If your program includes a mandatory practicum or work experience component, you must obtain a co-op work permit before beginning your practicum or work experience.

It's a good idea to apply for your co-op work permit when you apply for your study permit. If you didn't, you can apply online through the Government of Canada’s website.

You will need a Confirmation of Practicum letter to support your application. Find your Confirmation of Practicum letter:

  1. Log in to myRDP
  2. Navigate to the International Quick Links card
  3. Click on the Confirmation of Practicum letters link
  4. Choose your program from the list
