Where can I do 3D printing in Red Deer or Central Alberta?
Answer
Due to the closure of the RDP Makerspace, 3D printing is no longer available in the Library.
At Red Deer Polytechnic, students may be able to access the 3D printers at the Centre for Innovation in Manufacturing - Technology Access Centre (CIM-TAC). Email them at innovation@rdpolytech.ca to explore options and check availability and procedures.
Within Central Alberta, other options for 3D printing include (but are not limited to):
Contact these organizations directly regarding their procedures and availability.
(Note: Red Deer Public Library does not offer 3D printing.)
Other options for 3D printing might also be available. Students are responsible for researching these options themselves and determining the fit for their project:
- Private businesses and individuals
- Maker clubs and organizations
- Online manufacturers (e.g. Prototype Hubs)
- Libraries outside Central Alberta. For example, Edmonton Public Library, Airdrie Public Library, and Camrose Public Library all offer 3D printing. Check other libraries near you to see if they offer this service.
