Where can I buy textbooks, Trades modules (ILMs), course materials, and supplies?
Answer
For credit students, instructors choose the textbook(s) for each class, and register them with Red Deer Polytechnic's Campus Store. For each class, you can find the list of required material(s) on the Campus Store website and purchase them at the Campus Store or elsewhere.
For Trades students, course materials (Individual Learning Modules, or ILMs) are determined by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training. You can find the list of required materials on the Campus Store website and purchase them at the Campus Store.

If you want to check (or shop) online, go to the Campus Store website:
- Scroll down to Get Your Textbooks.
- Click Find Courses.
- Ensure that the correct Term is displayed (e.g., Fall 2023).
- Select Division:
- For academic credit classes, choose Red Deer Polytechnic
- For Apprenticeship classes, choose Apprent
- For classes offered through Continuing Education & Corporate Training, choose Extended Education
- Select Department: choose the course name from the drop-down list (e.g. ACCT for Accounting)
- Select Course: choose the course number from the drop-down list (e.g. 103)
- Select Section: choose your course section (e.g. B)
- Once information has been entered in row 1, you can continue to search for course materials by entering information in subsequent rows.
- When you have entered all the information, click Find Materials to get your customized list of textbooks and materials.
Note: Some textbooks are available in more than one format. Also, some textbooks are available to rent, and there may be different rental periods available; carefully pay attention to the options you're choosing.
Some textbooks include online-integrated publisher content. In these cases, your instructor will set up a link in your Blackboard course to access publisher materials.
If you have more questions, call the Campus Store at 403.342.3245 or email them at 0913mgr@follett.com.
