In Blackboard, discussions occur in a forum.
A forum is an area of the discussion board where students discuss a topic or a group of related topics. Within each forum, users can create multiple threads.
If your instructor has enabled this, you can start a new thread, which would be a new statement on the topic of the forum.
You can also reply to other students' threads with your own thoughts on the topic.
