How can I get writing help at RDP?
Answer
Writing Skills Tutoring can help RDP students with their writing in a few different ways:
Appointments
Individual appointments are available at various times throughout the week. Visit the Writing Skills Tutoring guide to schedule an appointment.
- 15-minute individual appointments for quick writing questions (e.g. a grammar, punctuation, or citation question)
- 45-minute individual appointments for more extensive writing help (e.g. essay brainstorming, essay organization, clarity, or focus)
Drop-In
Writing Tutors are available several times a week to help students on a drop-in (no appointment required) first-come, first-served basis. Drop-in times are listed on the Events Calendar.
Note: More than one student may be present during drop-in times, so this service is best for quick, non-confidential questions.
Email Tutoring
Writing help is available via email—you don't even have to come to campus! Check the Writing Skills Tutoring guide for instructions on submitting your work.
Note: Turnaround times will vary according to tutor availability and demand, and are not guaranteed.
Writing Groups
We offer writing groups for some select high-demand programs. Students in those programs can get writing help in an informal, supportive group environment with a Writing Tutor available to answer questions, offer suggestions, and share information and advice. Attend in-person or online. Check the Writing Skills Tutoring guide for a list of our current writing groups and their days and times.
