RDP students can access Writing Skills Tutoring in a few different ways:

Appointments

In-person and online appointments are available at various times throughout the week. Visit the Writing Skills Tutoring guide to schedule an appointment.

• 15-minute individual appointments for quick writing questions (e.g., grammar, punctuation, or citation)
• 45-minute individual appointments for more in-depth writing help (e.g., essay brainstorming, essay organization, clarity, or focus)

Drop-In

Writing Tutors are available several times a week to help students on a drop-in, first-come, first-served basis (no appointment required). Drop-in times are listed on the Events Calendar.

Note: More than one student may be present during drop-in times, so this service is best for quick, non-confidential questions.

Email Tutoring

Writing help is available via email—you don't even have to come to campus! Check the Writing Skills Tutoring guide for instructions on submitting your work to us for our comments and suggestions.

Note: Turnaround times will vary according to tutor availability and demand.

Writing Groups

We offer writing groups for some select high-demand programs. Students in those programs can get writing help in an informal, supportive group environment with a Writing Tutor available to answer questions, offer suggestions, and share information and advice. Check the Writing Skills Tutoring guide for a list of our current writing groups and their days and times.

The Write Day

This all-day writing event is held monthly from September to April. Writing Tutors are available all day to provide writing and citation help. No appointment or registration needed.

The Write Day is held in the Tutoring Centre (Library 2nd floor, room 2006G). Come and go as needed. Bring others and work on a group project, or do individual work—all in a supportive environment. Check the Writing Skills Tutoring guide for current dates and times.
