What kind of tutoring is available for RDP students?

Tutoring is free for Red Deer Polytechnic students, with the exception of the fee-based Peer Tutoring service.
Tutoring occurs in the Tutoring Centre (Room 2006G, 2nd floor of the Library) or online.
Academic Upgrading offers free tutoring for RDP students in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics upgrading courses. Drop-in hours are posted on the guide.
The ESL Tutor focuses on building academic language proficiency for English language learners. Sessions include a mix of grammar instruction, vocabulary development, and conversation/pronunciation. Meet online or in-person.
The Learning Strategist can help you develop techniques to understand, remember, and apply the knowledge you are learning. In-person appointments are available.
The math tutor can help you understand the math-related content of your courses. Drop-in hours are posted on the guide.
The Science Tutor is available to help Red Deer Polytechnic students with biology, chemistry, and physics content. Drop-in hours are posted on the guide.
The writing tutors can help you with:
- Essay organization and structure
- Research and planning
- Developing a strong thesis statement
- Grammar and punctuation
- Any other issues related to writing
