What kind of tutoring is available for RDP students?

Answer

Tutoring is free for Red Deer Polytechnic students, with the exception of the fee-based Peer Tutoring service. 

Tutoring occurs in the Tutoring Centre (Room 2006G, 2nd floor of the Library) or online.


 

 

Academic Upgrading Tutoring

Academic Upgrading offers free tutoring for RDP students in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics upgrading courses. Drop-in hours are posted on the guide.

ESL Tutoring

The ESL Tutor focuses on building academic language proficiency for English language learners. Sessions include a mix of grammar instruction, vocabulary development, and conversation/pronunciation. Meet online or in-person.

 

Learning Strategist

The Learning Strategist can help you develop techniques to understand, remember, and apply the knowledge you are learning. In-person appointments are available.

Math Tutoring

The math tutor can help you understand the math-related content of your courses. Drop-in hours are posted on the guide.

 

Science Tutoring

The Science Tutor is available to help Red Deer Polytechnic students with biology, chemistry, and physics content. Drop-in hours are posted on the guide.

Writing Skills Tutoring

The writing tutors can help you with:

  • Essay organization and structure
  • Research and planning
  • Developing a strong thesis statement
  • Grammar and punctuation
  • Any other issues related to writing

Meet online or in-person, or attend during drop-in hours.


Peer Tutoring

Find a tutor to help you with your specific course. This fee-based service is coordinated by the Students' Association, through a partnership with Nimbus Learning.
